This is GIRI-DOOT’s 28th year in presenting International Adventure Film Festival. The Festival maintains its reputation as being one of the most lavish and important event in world adventure’s attracting a rich mix of climbers and explorers, film makers and journalists from different parts of the world.
This Festival is a major contribution towards international exchange and understanding. The international exchange is becoming popular through film media. This Festival has led to a cultural bridge built between India and other countries of the world, over which we can increase mutual understanding and exchange.
This Festival presents films about people who hold endless dreams of discovering this world of adventure. GIRI-DOOT’s Adventure Film Festival has attracted film makers and adventure lovers from all over the world as an International event featuring both adventure and exploration. This Festival is held every year in India and has achieved tremendous growth over the years, providing a forum in which film makers and people who love adventure sports can gather together.
Educative adventure films which still serve as the best mode of mass communication. We are all citizens of planet Earth. May we all grow closer and individuals and help the nations to draw closer and to work in cooperation, more harmoniously, towards an ideal world society.
This year the theme of the Festival “HIMALAYA CONNECTS MOUNT FUJI”.
At twenty eight, ADVENTURE FILM FESTIVAL is out of knee pants and clearly out of the blocks. We are now of an age to drink our water straight, firm in our sense of who we are, yet still youthful enough to regularly reexamine our sense of the planet.
So we find ourselves at age nineteen still youthful in our eagerness for new valleys, peaks or paradigms, reverential of good art, storytelling and science, and eager to part, gently perhaps, the waves and mists that yet cloak the mysteries of this planet. This jam-packed judgement of celluloid will provide numerous tantalizing delights from every inch of the medium. This Festival tries to spread the creativity, enthusiasm, and activism inherent in adventure.
